Wedding in Calabria

The sentinel by the sea

A love story between the tower and the sea

There are places that seem born to keep watch. A promontory reaching out into the Tyrrhenian, a tower that has scanned the horizon for centuries, a walled garden scented with salt and citrus. It is here, where Calabria stretches toward the open sea, that I had the honor of telling the story of Vito and Mari’s wedding, on a day when the light seemed to conspire with every glance.

Between the walls and the sea The garden perched above the water, the tower standing as a silent witness, the Tyrrhenian as the only backdrop: every stone of Palazzo del Capo has already seen centuries of waiting, departures and returns pass by and on that day it seemed to welcome one more story to keep.

A celebration in the sunset light As the sun went down, the palazzo transformed: the sky set the sea ablaze in amber and rose, warm lights lit up the garden, and the evening drifted through toasts, laughter and dancing, with the sound of the waves playing on until late into the night.

Calabria doesn’t ask to be understood right away: it asks for time, attention, open eyes. In return, it offers a wild, luminous coastline and a quality of light that makes every moment feel both fleeting and eternal. For couples dreaming of a wedding that is a place before it is a date somewhere with a soul of its own, to which you simply add yours this corner of Southern Italy is beyond compare. Come with your eyes open, and you will take home images that carry you back there, every single time.
